Lily Life Span?

I have a stargazer (rubrum, actually) that has half as many flower buds as usual. (Only 7 this year.) What is the average life span of oriental lily bulbs?

I don't know. Some I've had for 3 years are fine, otheres rotted in our wet, cool spring in Iowa.

The lily in question is 8 or 9 years old and is typically about 5 feet tall and is also shorter this year. I've never lost any to rot. But, like you, we sure have had a cool, wet spring this year!
