Started from seed and did not know what it was, until yesterday and it bloomed. Dont have a name.
My first ever Datura
Nice white. Datura are great plants for lots of bloom.
Are all the leaves the same or do some look likd Brug leaves?
I have two plants that I got at Texoma Round-up and they have never bloomed, are hard to grow and the leaves dont look like the one above. Double purple and white.
That's the one I want. If you keep seeds, I would like to be on the list.
Will do it if I get seeds. My mother said hers bloomed and she has a seed pod.
There are different kinds of leaves. The double purple always took longer to bloom for me. The double white was even worse.
That is sooo pretty... I have a couple of Dats that I have planted in my garden, and they are growing slowly, but they have been through a lot so maybe when they get a good toe hold, they will do more. Hope so.... Do Dats smell as nice as Brugs??
Blessings,
Carolyn
I think it is a personal preference here....Both smell good. I just happen to prefer brugs but before I knew what a brug was, I thought dats were the best thing I'd ever come across.
I have more trouble growing Dats than brugs
all the double dat's I started this year croaked....
due more to my neglect than anything
I just got back from a long road trip to Las Vegas, NV., Banning, LA, & Modesto CA.
I was amazed to see beautiful Daturas growing along side of the road out in the middle of the desert. I think I'm babying mine WAY too much. I got a picture of one of them on a golf course, it's not open yet, I picked one & it opened the next morning. I was quite surprised (pleasntly) that Dats also smell nice. I know that most of these were out in the hot sun with no water! Amazing!
