MsM, great photos of the hummer and the Gloriosa lily. I never seem to have my camera ready when the hummers are near. have a lot of them but can't find a nest. Donna

Enjoyed your pix MzM. I think everyone enjoys the little hummers & your photos are excellent.

Trish I don't think you have gotten a more perfect shot.

thank you all! I so enjoy these little winged jewels in my garden. I recently set up another feeder by my bedroom window where I can lie in bed drinking my first cup of coffee in the morning and watch them. That is usually when I see the males coming to the feeder.

Oh MzM!! How beautiful they are!! I have to live through yall's pictures! Those are great!

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 9b)

My Anna's hummer(s) been hanging around the Glory Lily, too, and I thought it was a little odd, as the flower doesn't have at all the 'look' of their usual favorites (salvias and the leonotis, 'tube' flowers).

Today I was out taking some pics of the lilies, and in the view-finder I saw a shadow against the white-stucco wall -- by the time I looked around to find her, she was between me and the sun, so I couldn't get a shot of her -- but obviously she was checking on what *I* was around *her* flower!

Great shots! What camera do you have and what was you shutter speed? How far away were you? The looking at the camera is exciting, I must get that! This shot of mine was an early morning one or I could have stopped the wings with a higher shutter speed. They seem to visit when the light is low here, and my flash won't reach 25ft out.

Monterey, I use an Olympus Z750. I know I had that set up on the auto and I was about 5' away from the plant.
