Brinda what is the purple plant. I have two little plants and have to fight to keep them alive. How do you do it? My calidums from eyes are doing great also.

Brinda I love all the oxalis you have growing there. (Tarogers, it's Oxalis, Purple Shamrock) I Almost lost mine until I put it in the shade. HOwmany do you have growing there? How long did it take them to spread?

:^))))

Thanks everyone for the nice comments!

You're right Molly...it's Oxalis and I love it. This is the second year for this bed. I buy the bulbs from Brent & Becky's Bulbs. (I just checked, they are out of them this year) I think they are about $30.00 per 100. Last year I planted 200 and then this year I filled in with 100 more. I think the bed is about 3'X20'. Hopefully I won't need anymore.

Eyes...if this gets any better I don't think I can stand it! LOL

Your beds look so incredible. Caladiums really add the color. I esp. like the one in the last pic that is in the lower row.

I think oxalis grows and spreads like a weed. be careful!

Hi Kell and thanks! The caladium in the lower row is Miss Muffet. She is such a sweet little caladium.

I'm not too worried about the oxalis....it has a tough time overwintering here. I feel lucky if it comes back. Something that I know I'm going to have a problem with is the groundcover called Chameleon Plant
Houttuynia cordata. Beware..... I think it's a monster! LOL Anyone need some? It smells like oranges.

True, here they never die! They just keep spreading on and on. Funny though, I had that ground cover in your last picture planted a while back and it would die off in the winter and come back in the spring. I haven't seen it now for a few years.

I just started houttuynia cordata this year. So far, I really like it. It is beginning to send out some runners, so I'll have to watch it closely. Great pictures Brinda. I love the oxalis. It all just looks grrrrrreat!!

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Brinda found it in the data base. Wood Sorrel Purple Shamrock. I have in growing in too deep of shade. Can I transplant it now or wait until fall.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

LOL Kell....I think it just relocated to my garden!

Brugie, I love the houttuynia. It has done the job that I wanted. That pic is of a triangle-shaped garden on the north side of a storage building that stays wet most of the time. It does spread underground by runners and will become invasive. I've kept mine confined so far.

TA....I scoop up some oxalis and move it to bare areas. It looks a little wilty for a day or so but then comes around.
