We'll be going on vacation for two weeks the end of the summer. I've arranged for a pet sitter. The pet sitter charges 50.00 a day 714.00 for the two weeks. She will visit three times each day to let them out. If I do a fourth visit that will be another 17 dollars each day. For a grand total of 952.00. I'm not sure I could even swing this much.
My concern is leaving the dogs in the house this long by themselves. I'm worried I won't have a house when I come back. They are use to me being here ALL the time. They've never stayed alone before. I'm wondering if they would be safer confined to a kennel? It might even make me feel better. Heck, they won't be happy left alone either way.
I'd still have the petsitter come over once a day for the cats and the bird.
What does everyone else do? We don't have family close by. No neighbor kids. I'm at a loss. In my old neighborhood we took turns watching each others dogs. This was never a problem or a expense.
