I am looking for these seeds for a friend. He has become nostalgic with the memory of those small, either pale pink or greyish/white double flowers with frilled petals. He says he needs to smell their lovely scent in his garden. His Granny even made a lotion with these flowers.
My seed-list is posted here: http://davesgarden.com/t/439190/
Want old fashioned Dianthus/Pink
My heart is broken.
Last week I got these seeds from gumlla in Pakistan. I was very happy to be able to surprise my friend with these seeds next time we would meet for another High-Lift truck maintenance course (where I translate the teachers coming from Germany and UK). Hugo was the representative for these trucks in Valdivia (southern Chile) and never missed the courses.
I am still under shock. I was watching the news and learned that Hugo had a car accident with his wife and 5 children on his way to a ski centre in Argentina (close to the border). Hugo and one of his 15 year old twin daughters died in the accident and his joungest boy is severely injured.
It's hard to accept that this gentle very tall big man with the innocent smile, always willing to help is not going to be with us next course.
It's even harder for that poor wife that lost her great partner and a daughter and is suffering for her youngest one.
Please join me in prayer for Hugo Giunio and his family.
Ursula
I am so sorry for Hugo and praying for Hugo and for his family.
I'm so sorry to hear that Ursula, I'm sending good thoughts for Hugo's family
gumlla, thank you for your words and prayers. The seeds you sent me for Hugo will now be grown to become sort of a memorial among my plants.
Baa, I really do appreciate your good thoughts for Hugo's family. Guess they really need them.
Thanks.
Dear Ursula, I was really sorry to hear that, my heart goes out to that poor family.
Sounds like a terrible loss. I am sorry. Hugo and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thanks.
Thanks, Bitty. It is hard to accept when such young people die; Hugo was just 45 years old and his daughter only 15. However, being sure they are both in our Lord's reign makes it a tiny bit easier every day.
Thanks Bitty, that's very sweet of you. I do not have direct contact to Hugo's family, but understand that the kid's recovery has been steady although slow. Hugo was a much loved member in his community and I'm sure his friends and relatives will take good care of his wife and children.
Ursula
Do you have a picture of Hugo?
No gumlla, I don't.
