Sweet Potato Crunch?

Recently, my DH and I were visiting with AngelSong and she got us a "takeout" dinner. One of the side dishes was Sweet Potato Crunch. Good night, was it ever good. Anyone ever made this? It was a mashed sweet potato, with nuts (we think walnuts but not sure) and a "crunch" that reminded me of a brown sugar mixture of some sort. Whatever it was I'm determined to duplicate it. Has anyone ever had it or tried to make it? If so, I don't suppose you'd share the recipe? Please??? tks......
