Begonias on Parade
That Orange Glo is some hot color. Love the petticoat edges. Your garden must be a fairyland with all of those in it.
Love your pics! Begonias are one of my favorite flowers but don't do well here.
When I was a kid I used to volunteer at a begonia greenhouse in our city park and tended to watering them on the weekends as necessary. I got into a love affair with them.
Thanks for the drool. I gotta go empty my bucket.
Those are beautiful! I love the last one...Pepto pink it's calling my name.
What beautiful flowers.
How do you grow tuberous begonias? I've tried and have not had success. Do yours survive the summer?
What a luscious parade, some real beauties you have there.
Kelli, it may be too warm in Tinseltown. "Begonias thrive best in about 55 degress at night to 70 degrees in daytime." I am in the San Francisco Bay area and it is rare not to get the ocean breeze in the late afternoon to help keep things cool. These tubers are from Antonelli Brothers http://antnelli.infopoint.com on the coast in Santa Cruz. Going there when these gems are in bloom is a very heady experience.
Mine are in an inner atrium, with nursery cloth over the top. They get very filtered light. Like cyclamen, they are subject to rot if the tuber is not placed right at the surface of the soil. They are finicky.
