Coral Lily

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

This is Lilium pumilum (syn. L.tenuifolium)

It's so cute! I got this last year at our NE roundup from debi_z. I left the poor thing in it's pot all winter but it still rewarded me with blooms this summer. The flowers are about the size of a quarter.

arn't they just wonderful sue? mine have come and gone and they were so dainty and bright. i had a couple in a pot, that the bulbs were "iffy". one came through and had 2 tiny flowers. :-)

on another lily note.....did you get the lily beatles again this year? i had them for the first time and i'm grateful to you, for writing about them last year. i knew what the problem and solution was. thank goodness. thos larvae are the grossest things. folks. the larvae of the lily beetle carries its excrement on its back, to deter predatures. gross!!!!!

i lost all the leaves on one of my taenuifolium before i got the sevin on them. but the flowers were great.

Lily beetles haven't been too bad this year. I've kept a can of Raid outside and whenever I see one it gets sprayed. I think I've killed most of them. My lilies are looking pretty good. There are a few chewed leaves here and there... but nothing like it was a couple of years ago.
