I'm SO excited to be having my first Brug flower bud forming. I misplaced the papers that came with these cuttings so don't know which one it is.....but as it's my first I DON"T CARE hehehehehe
(MsCritterkeeper was VERY generous)
I know the pic is rather blurry, but I have a very old camera and it does poorly with zoom shots....and the poor little bud is only 1/4 inch long (10mm).

My very first Brug bud forming
Keep having patience, cause it will still be a while til it gets big enough to open. But oh the joy when it does. Congrats.
WTG Marc! I started mine from seed so I still have a ways to go! Probably won't happen for me this summer.
Congrats!!! That is SO exciting!!! It will be about a month, give or take, before you see the bloom. But, well worth the wait. Gretchen :)
Thanks ladies....I will wait as patiently as I can. Honest
IS IT OPEN YET!! hehehehehe
Karrie I too have many brug baby seedlings, and don't expect anything from them this year either.
I do have 5 rooted cuttings.(thanks again MsCritterKeeper)
2 in pots (1 has the bud). And 3 others planted in the ground sheltered by our hot tub.
Can't wait to smell those while soaking in the hot tub.......ahhhhhhhhh
edited for spelling :-)

Congratulations Marc! You will be eyeballing it every day! How fun!!
You are so welcomed Marc...Glad to see they are going to bloom soon for you.
Keep us posted.
Isn't it exciting. My first buds are getting close. Others are coming along, others are falling off. WHY??? We've been having quite a bit of rain.
Riker, it looks like your camera focused on the ground. Does it have an automatic focus? What I do sometimes is to put my hand in front of what I want to shoot, do the auto-focus on my hand, remove my hand and shoot without re-focusing. Get some interesting results that way.
I can see the bud. Way to go. When did you start your seedlings? I've had them bloom easily when started up to March 1. Have never started anything after that. With your zone, you may see more of your seedlings bloom than you think. I hope so. It is so much fun waiting for seedling bloom and hoping all the time that just one of them will be special.
Marc,
Can I see a pic of your seedlings? :)
Sure....I'll get one taken when I get in this evening from clinic.
They range from 2 to 6 inches, and seem to be growing rather slowly.
Thanks for the pix MsCK....is that by chance one of the plants my cuttings came from?
Yes, Marc it is...at the time I sent it I didn't know which one it was now after studying & getting some more information, I believe it to be Insignis Pink...
Oh happy day! What was the other of which you sent me cuttings?
The other one I sent was a white...I'll have to check on it's name...it smells great & blooms easily, but I don't think it's as pretty as the pink.:) it is as hardy though...you may have a yellow one that is Charles Grimaldi
http://davesgarden.com/fp.php?pid=822548... too.
It will be a surprise when it blooms. lol
I didn't know any the names when I sent them but I have done a lot of back tracking and researching since then. So I feel pretty sure they are what I say.I will send you an email with pics and the correct names of each for your records, later. Enjoy

Thanks again MsCK.....your wonderful!
And too thank you for the broms which you sent me with the brugs. They are all growing nicely, and are just starting to send up new bloom spikes.....Queens Tears especially.
I'm so pleased they all are doing great.
I thought you'd enjoy them. Perhaps next year you will need more for your hot tub area...they'd love that.:>)
The Callas you sent are HUGE! I'm so happy with em.
I just dug out a very large clump of callas on the other side of the hot tub.....so I'll certainly need more brugs to fill in.
hehehehehehehe
I'm pleased the ones I sent you are thriving. Its a cool feeling knowing part of my garden now extends thousands of miles away.
That's great...I can always use some more of those callas if they aren't promised to anyone (& your heart meds are up to date for that shipping cost LOL). I have a few other named brugs you might want to try, too...Just email me if you are interested in getting some more cuttings. I need to go cut that "Wild Thang" brug back again anyway I can't hardly get through the backyard at the moment and I'm only 5ft3....
I composted them MsCK.....sorry. I will have more later this summer, as I'm planning to pull most of them out.
I'll keep you posted.............
Marc..That was NAUGHTY! ;-)....just let me know .Thanks
I ddin't mean to be naughty...... :-) I have just done way to many trades recently, and have a bunch more yet to finish....
lots of butterfly bush starts yet to ship.
That is why these callas went directly into the compost bin.
I promise this Fall I'll dig you another big ol' clump if your really wnt more.
Oh that's ok...(head hanging really low-big sad green eyes-sniffle-sniffle) LOL
I just can't imagine composting those beauties.
Please let me know when you are ready to dig more I'd be thrilled to have them, anytime.
