Root my voodoo is doing the same thing except it hasn't opened quite as much as yours yet. It had already bloomed when I recieved it so I didn't get to see the actual flower.
That purple splotched tube on mine is just starting to open and show the leaves.
I can't wait til next year to see it bloom though.
