New to Dave's from So. California

Hi everyone,

I've been reading DG for about a month but I didn't realize there was a place to introduce myself.

I'm a long time gardener in the Pasadena/Glendale areas of So. Cal. I love to exchange plants, cuttings and seeds and favor the cottage garden look. I'm a stone's throw (more or less) from Descanso Gardens - one of my favorite hangouts.

I'm looking forward to trading garden info and meeting others who share this passion.

I am a southern neighbor of yours in Orange County. We have had many new members from this area join DG this year.
My Begonia club is going to Descanso Gardens tomorrow, but I couldn't go this time. I've never been there, but someday I will be sure to go.

Hello from the South Bay. Great pictures. I seem to specialize in weeds since they all grow so well in my garden.

Welcome from SoUtah's canyons. Luv the pics of your garden - delightfully cottage-y. I've wen to Descanso to see the camelias and roses once and it was live oak pollen season - I left with tears with swollen eyes and much sneeezing. But I want to go back when the pollen isn't there.

Hey, if SoCal doesn't know it, maybe I can help -- typing from SantaAna/Tustin (Orange County); I don't know that much but am happy to share anything I do -- and sometimes if a problem piques my interest I will try my hand at googling an answer even if outside my realm of expertise! I mostly hang out in "Identification" and otherwise follow Blooms (my mom) around!

I'm the one that took her to Descanso during the worst pollen season in history! Who knew?!!

LaCanada is such a lovely area and so many wonderful plants grow on the sunny hillsides and beautiful gardens there. We moved this year from Pasadena to Cincinnati and I know your area pretty well...in fact, I just visited Descanso Gardens last month and toured the Showcase House in the spring.
