When we bought this bird we were told he would live about 12 years. That was 23 years ago. He seems as good as ever. He used to be noisy, but learned we didn't like it so he is not a loud as he was. For a long time all the other birds would yell "shut up Gweep" (his name) and he would. He now considers himself a watchbird and sounds off only when he thinks people need to be involved. If thirsty he says "sip", his only word, but he means it. A very sweet beauty. It looks like he will outlive us all.
