Posted this in another forum and echoes thought I might get more feedback here. Please let me know if you've had any dealings with them before. Thanks!
They are in Manitoba but ship worldwide. They have some interesting varieties. The Garden Watchdog has a 72% rating but no comments since April 2003 and only 7 total comments. I would appreciate anyone's personal experience with this company as I am considering an order this fall. Thanks! Brenda
Anyone order from The Lily Nook?
Can't say enuff about them. Of course, may be biased, as I'm in Manitoba too. Their stock is almost always true to name. Where it isn't, it is because they received the wrong whatever from overseas. Replacements very quickly sent in that case. I sometimes email with a prob. and always get a very polite professional reply.
Their stock is TDF (To die for). Just remember, when ordering species lilies, they are smaller bulbs so don't worry, they are supposed to be smaller than hybrids. If you aren't in Canada, why not make up an order with some of your friends. That way you can split the cost of the phytosanitary cert. mandatory for shipping across the border. Or overseas.
Inanda
inanda - thanks for the feedback! I gathered they were a pretty reliable lily retailer. The cost of the phyto ($15) isn't a problem for me and I know the species are smaller bulbs as are the Asiatics compared to the oriental or trumpet bulbs. I just wanted to get some personal DG input before I order everything on my shopping list that they have that I've not found elsewhere. I figure if I do order then I'll make it worth my while to cover the shipping & phyto cost.
Thanks,
Brenda
I have never been disappointed when ordering from The Lily Nook. They are #1 on my list for lily bulbs. I also agree with inanda's comments.
Now I'm gonna start finalizing that order....2 thumbs up...can't beat that can ya? :-D
If there's anything I can ever do for you all down here south of the border, let me know. Is it hard to trade plants/seeds between the US & Canada?
I really appreciate the advice - it means so much more than all the fancy advertising on a website. Brenda
Practically impossible to trade seeds/plants if you want to do it legally; and of course all of us at DG would be doing it absolutely legally - right???
I spoke to the President of our local Horticultural club and she also thought they were fantastic. She hasn't ordered from them but has made a purchasing trip there a number of times.

jagonjune--well I want to be on the up and up. Last thing I want is some purdy l'il plants getting confiscated and destroyed. LOL!
Lilypon - thanks so much for taking the time to talk to your Hort club Pres. Looks like I'm definitely going to be ordering!
Anybody (besides Echoes) within driving distance? The Lily Nook is localed in Neepawa Manitoba. Neepawa has a great annual lily festival. It is this weekend, but you could maybe get a group together for next year. I'm computer challenged but I'll give the brochure to Echoes. Am sure she can send some pix to y'all. Not only the lilies all over town but garage sales TDF. Quilt show. Good campground with swimming pool, several hotels. Entire town gets involved, with pancake brekkies, horse drawn tours, fish fry, lily show, golden arches magic show and masses of other things for kiddos, etc etc etc. Home baked food TDF of course.
Of course, I've been in Manitoba for 4 years and have a big dog show same weekend. Anyway, lilies are fairly late this year so may not be too many lilies.
I split an order with 3 other DG members in the US this Fall and I was absolutely thrilled with the quality of their bulbs. The only disappointment was that 1 item was not available and they did not bother to notify me even though I emailed on 2 different occasions about the status of shipment. They promptly replied with status but never mentioned the inavailability issue.
Can't wait to see these pretties bloom next year.
