I talked to David last night on the phone and he mentioned that today is his birthday. I don't know why it didn't come up on the sideboard unless he didn't give the date when he registered...so I'm taking this opportunity to say "Happy Birthday David" and I hope your cake was really good. Also hope you are feeling much better.

Thanks Shirley. It was nice of you to start this. As for the cake it is pretty good. As for me feeling better well that's a different story. I actually feel worse.
I woke up at 2am this morning coughing and couldn't go back to sleep. Tried to lay back down but was back up at 3:30 and realized I had refrigerated the frosting for the cake and it was supposed to go on while spreadable. Needless to say when I found it it ws like a rock. I had to run some warm water in the sink and get it to the proper consistancy again and ended up standing in the kitchen frosting a cake at 3:45 this morning.
I've felt so bad all day that I really haven't done much. Canceleld my dinner plans and just ate at Wendy's. Hows that for some good birthday food?!!
Even though i'm taking 2 prescription medications for the fever and chest and head congestion that I have right now i've had this really persistant dry cough and even the cough medicine that the pharmacist recommended hasn't stopped it. So that raps up how my 37th birthday has turned out.

I've had a sore throat lately and I sincerely believe it has to dow with the unusually weird weather this year, ya think??!! Sorry you've been sick. It sounds just like the same thing I've been battling for 2 weeks. I'm too much of a numb skull to go to the doc... If I had gone right away I might have been able to get over it sooner. I still have the dry and aching cough. I'm thankful for Nyquil... it knocks me right out so I can get some sleep.

Well I feel somewhat better this morning. I slept all night last night without coughing or waking up,but I did almost OD on medicatoin so that may explain why!!!
The Dr. didn't give me an exact explanation as to what was wrong because she wasn't sure herself. Imagine that! All she told me was that the coloration in my ears was dull,the color in my nose and my throat was very red and that I had some chest congestion,fluid built up behind my ears and a slight fever.
I'm off from work today and tomorrow so since I feel a little better I may venture out to the water park or down to the beach in a little while, the ocean is within 2 miles from me.
This is the first B-day I have ever spent at home and not out with family and friends celebrating with dinner and a late night of drinking! The way I felt yesterday though I could have cared less if I left the house for any reason and the meds that i'm taking,one gripes my stomach and the other just leaves me with no appetite at all and I have a total of 70 of them to take over a 10 day period.
Thanks to all of you for the nice b-day thoughts and as soon as the old me is back,I will be out doing it up like it was supposed to be done the first time!!!
That means dinner at the Japanese steak house and then a late night of tequila (Cuervo Gold) and icehouse.

Icehouse is my #1 and only choice in beer. Alcohol content 5.5 a little stronger than a lot of other beers.
I've felt a lot better today than i've felt the past 3 days. Still not 100% though.
I did manage to get the lawn mowed and went out to lowes and bought the rest of the supplies I will need to put irrigation in my yard. Boy I had no idea it would cost so much.

If you are still having trouble sleeping because of congestion, I can give you a hint that helped me a lot as a child (asthma). Sleep on THREE pillows, the bottom one turned the usual way, the middle one turned sideways to support your back, and the top one turned the usual way. The middle one for back support made all the difference for me when I couldn't breathe at night.
