Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

gorgeous bloom... !!!!!

Canadaigua, NY(Zone 6b)

The scent was so sweet and intoxicating. As soon as I walked in the door it took over. I honestly can say it bloomed very easily for me. The cutting, which I got about 4 months ago, was from a very old and established plant. I basically sprinkled it with some rooting powder and stuck it in a pot. I watered it about three times and it started to produce a bloom. I thought it was dead and gone because it didn't do anything, now I even have a baby growing! Mere

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Thats wonderful.....!!!!!!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

In just 4 months,took me 3 yrs from a cutting,WTG!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Awesome! Congratulations:-) I'm glad it was still blooming when you got home.

Canadaigua, NY(Zone 6b)

Yeah Tropic, no joke on that one. I was nannying for them and they had a plant. I took a cutting and here we are four months later! I think maybe it's because I didn't cut up the leaf. I kept the long stalk attached and cut all of the extra leaves off of the main leaf that was connected directly to the stalk. Kinda forced it out, maybe. It had nothing better to do, with no more leaves, so it flowered! Mere

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Well it was either your green thumb,or what you said about stripping the leaves and keeping the long stem.
Combo of both I think!!!

Long Beach, MS(Zone 8b)

Please, what is that flower? It is beautiful.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Ruba, It is Epiphyllum oxypetalum, Night-blooming Cereus. See this link: http://plantsdatabase.com/go/2443/index.html

Thanks for the name. It is just great. Won't even try it here though with all the rain we get. Will keep it in mind though so if I ever move to a dryer climate it will be a must.

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

Ruba, you should have no problem with it, here is mine. This pic is from last year. I have about 7-8 buds on mine right now that will open in a few days.

Wow, great picture, Mary.

Long Beach, MS(Zone 8b)

Gee thanks, Mary. Now I gotta have it. If you see it anywhere close to you (or me) let me know and I will make a run to get it. How long have you had yours?

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

I can send you a cutting. They root incredibly easy. It took mine several years to bloom from a small cutting.

Long Beach, MS(Zone 8b)

Mary, that would be great. I am heading out to the wilds of Colorado on a hiking trip tomorrow and will be back July 4th and will get in touch with you then. I might just drive over and get the cutting and bring you a trade. Will be in touch.

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

2 blooms opened last night, there are more that should open soon.
