Was not sure where to post this so here we go:
The beginning of my native bog garden in Florida.....
Bog Garden Underway
The hole has been dug, pant pant and now to put plastic down....
After a layer of sand I added a layer of moss..... then I went inside and rested!
oops, forgot the pic I was so hot and sweaty!
Then another two layers of sand and compost....almost done except we had a glorius rain cloud for a few hours, will finish the garden in the morning.
Lookin' good! Be sure to keep posting the progress! I've never been to Florida. Someday I will.

Be careful Weeds. I had such fun with my bog area, that I created two more. It is always interesting to see what will grow there.

Weeds, I took those large plastic storage containers like you get at walmart for 7-8 bucks, the ones you store sweaters and christmas ornaments and stuff like that in. I dug me a hole and put the container in the hole. Then I filled it with a mix of dirt, compost, and peat. Add water and bingo, a bog. I have planted elephant ears, iris, pitcher plants, lizard tail, pennywort, mexican petunia, horsetial reed. I really like the plastic containers because the roots wont grow through them.
