Hoya archiboldiana

Bethlehem, GA(Zone 7b)

Got this from a fantastic grower in Hawaii last summer. Had a peduncle when I received it and this is the bloom. It was beautiful! The smell was awesome too!

Oh so pretty!
Do you have a larger picture of it, about 800X600?
Do not forget to post your pic in the Plants Database :)

Hi PanamonCreel,
I don't have a larger picture of this one. I tried to add this one to the PDB but I am not sure if it went or not???

Beautiful, Chainsaw. How long from peduncle to bloom? What is the smell like?

I have a H. archboldiana growing up a young tree...and when it blooms those umbels hang down...wonderful to look UP and see them. It is one of my favorites...hoping to find the white one with the red center. :o)

Karen,
It seemed like it took forever for the blooms to open. I genuinely don't remember how long it took. Of course doing the daily "hoya walk" through the plants grew into two and three times a day, which seemed to make it take even longer!!!! The smell was just a sweet perfumey smell that was just as good as any aromatherapy product I have ever smelled!!!

Chainsaw, I saw that your picture made it into the Plants Database which is very nice. But I do have a complaint to you.
There was already an existing Hoya archboldiana entry but you made another one. You should always check first if the species already exists in the Plants Database and only add it if it doesn't.

Panamon, Thank you, I did notice that there were two categories the next day as well. I, however didn't add the category, I only uploaded the photo to the existing "empty" category. You are correct though, in the future I will double check to be certain that there is only one category per subject. Thanks for your advice and thanks for the compliments on my bloom!

ohhhhhhh, it is beautiful, mine is a different. I do know that there are at least three different varieties of color. I would love to see all three of them side by side. Mine is very pink, did not post it because it just was not sharp enough. My friends is verry blackish maroon, and I understand that there is a red out there as well. Thank you for sharing. Norma

Sorry Susan for making the assumption that the additional entry was from you.
I hope you don't mind me asking the DG staff to move your pic to the other entry?

Hi Milan, no I don't mind you asking the staff to combine the two. Actually, I had wondered if that could be done. Thanks again and I appreciate your time. No problem with the assumption. Have a wonderful day!

The friendly staff at DG is very accommodating :)
