Dr. Suess vs. CG

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

This was my Dr. Suess, two summers ago. This plant is about six foot tall, in the pot, and was a first year plant. The picture I posted on another thread, of CG, was probably 8 ft. or more. http://davesgarden.com/t/437031/

My message didn't go through, I guess - trying again. That is lovely Shirley, I surely hope I can grow an alley tree, I'm suddenly just fascinated with them. Your Chas G is so pretty too!! Who is that white floozie, sticking her nose into the CG photo?????

Wow! MUCH difference in the leaves. LOL I think it will forever be in question.

Beautiful pics Shirley!

The white one is Creamsickle. I don't have it anymore. It never would change to peach color for me and even tho the blooms are huge and it smells great, I just decided I'd use the room for something that performed better for me.

Your coleus sure is pretty Brguie. I have a good sized potted Dr. Suess about to flower. I can't say I am in love with it. I never thought I would become such a brug snob! LOL

Which is your favorite yellow?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Until I grow out some other yellow brugs, I'd have to say that CG is my favorite. I love the fragrance and the size of the plant and blooms. How can you not like something that looks like this when you walk under it and look up??? LOL!

How big a pot is that brug in?

Beautiful Picture Shirley. I think I would get one of those beach chairs so I could sit under CG and enjoy the view and the scent.

Ooooooh, that is so pretty, Shirley, I can almost smell it!!!

Shirley, your brug pix are fabulous. CG was the first brug that I bought, but this year for some reason my cuttings of it have been very slow, no blooms yet and the plants are quite short, but there is plenty of time I guess. Donna

Thanks everyone. That brug was in a cardboard pot and I believe it was a seven gallon size. I had to water it at least three times a day. This year, it is in the ground and growing fairly slow right now, but our summer heat isn't here yet. I'm sure it will go to town as soon as it gets hot.
