Thanks for posting this. I have one planted in the middle of my most prominent flower bed by the front door, and was wondering if it will be 'too much'. Yours is great, and I'm sure I'm not moving mine now!!! It's a funny looking, fun, shrub.

Hey,

I have 2,one in front, the other in back.I was wondering if they grew bigger! Thanks for the pics, now I know what they will look like later, thank GOD they are not large,I didnt want that in front,I love it,so odd just the way I like my plants.I do get comments on it too.Do you cut off the suckers?I do,is that why yours is so full?Should I leave*them???Thanks again

I believe that they are supposed to get 8-10' wide and high (don't quote me on this though - going from memory). This picture was taken fairly early in the season, so the suckers had been trimmed off. Currently it has quite a few, but I want it to drop its leaves before I trim them down, so I can trim them as close as possible to the ground. Since it is even more full now than in the picture, it would be a bit of a task to do so now.

Your garden/landscape pictures are answering my multiple questions that I draw up, as I'm getting farther into my CPH certification. I'm aware of what plants are in my customers landscape and now that I'm able to relate to them to their (plants) commons names, connecting with their biotanical names.
Thank you ...

I could really use some help. I ordered a "walking stick" about 5 years ago and planted it. I knew nothing about this plant, just liked the way the branches twisted and contorted. It is about 6 feet tall, and doing well, but the branches aren't like the ones I have seen on this site. Do they twist with age, or are there different species? I am fairly new to gardening and still learning. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, I would like to know that too, since mine is about 5 yrs. old and not twisted yet. I really was hoping it would start to twist by now, or is it the pruning that does it? Would appreciate any advise on this! Thank you!
