Three of my buds on my little brug have fallen off.. There are more coming and I was wondering what causes them to do that. I have checked over and over again for pest, and have seen not a sign of anything.. Not even any holes in the leaves... the leaves are a nice dark green and it is healthy looking... I just hated to see those little buds lying on the deck.... :0(

Buds are falling off...
LL,Do you know which Brug it is?
I have some doing it to. Adora, L'Amour, Creamsickle, Hawaiian Dbl Wht. I'm finding them all over the yard and in pots. I think it is just the heat and humidity. It is almost unbearable here right now. 90%+ humidity and upper 80's to low 90's
Whew,if that is the problem,I guess I better get used to picking up buds.
Hi,
It is a Brug that I got in a plant swap.... and it is simply marked Pink Brug... We have had a lot of stormy weather and I have had to move the pot a couple of times to keep it out of the high wind that accompanied those storms. It has been very hot and quite humid the past few days, with cool nights.... *sigh*....
I shall keep my fingers crossed as it is putting out more buds as we speak...

I had buds drop on my hibiscus, but not on the brugs, knock on wood!! I would think, but certainly do not know, that some kind of stress would cause the buds to drop, such as transplanting or over watering or under watering or too much or too little fertilizer, too much sun or too little sun. I would think your hot/humid days and cool nights would be the perfect environment...
we are having upper 80 degree nights to. No cool weather here again until october or november.
Donna, it is probably the heat. It happened to mine last year also during the heatwave. With such a high humidity, you shouldnt have much problems with Spider mites.
I only have 1 with spider mites since a couple of week ago. Only saw very few mites today. I have been hosing the Cuelbra down everyday and it has rained for the last 2 day. I am so glad to be getting rid of them with no poison and no visible damage to the plant.
