Well, I tried growing a Caladium indoors, not knowing any better, at the time of purchase......and it did okay, for the mostpart, but not great. I kept getting droopy leaves, and I couldn't tell if it was from underwatering, overwatering, or what. Finally, I cut the three droopers off, and my whole apartment got SO full of "Caladium" smell, it was all I could taste! I couldn't stand it, so I ended up planting it out in the back yard, up on a rocky area, where it shouldn't get disturbed by anyone. It gets some early morning sun, and some late afternoon sun, but the rest of the time it's in shade. After 3 days, it appears to be doing okay. Now, instead of seeing it, from 10' away, I look out the window and see it 35' away! Oh well, at least it didn't end up in the trash!

Hum... yes, please describe the smell!
Once I put mine outdoors, I never seem them again... why can't I get these to return from their dormant period??? Yes, and my only other aroid died and didn't return from dormancy. 'African Mask' calocasia.
Any suggestions, descriptions?

Describe the smell......hmmmmmmm....got me on that one!
A very strong "green" smell??? It left a bitter, metallic taste in your mouth. After a few hours of it, you could smell nothing else, anymore.
