pictures in emails

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

My sister does a lot of photography and often emails me her pictures. I have 3 questions about these.

1. I have Outlook Express set to remove suspicious attachments. When I get her email there is an attachment symbol (paper clip) and when I open the email there is a message saying OE has removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail: (attachment name) but the picture is still visible. Why?

2. Is there anyway for me to tell what kind of file the attachment is (i.e. .jpg) before I open the email?

3. If I want to comment on a picture, I select reply and write my comments and send the email. She recently told me the pictures are never on the replies so she is not always sure which photo I am talking about, especially if she sent several. So I tried right clicking on the photo and copying it but when I paste I just get a box with a red x. Is there any way I can make the picture show up when I reply?

Thanks in advance to all you good gurus. &:^)
