My backyard

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Here is the reason, why I have not been much around in the forum. I have worked very hard, to get all my Brugmansias out.
This is the backyard with the Greenhouses. I am almost finished.

The buckets and water cans have to protect the pots from too much sun until the frame is ready for this purpose.

So very pretty, I'm sure it takes a lot of work. Hoping you will show us more pictures as summer comes on.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Honestly Monika, I just do not know how you do all this. Amazing ! And soooo pretty. You and your garden should be on TV.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh my gosh, I can't imagine the amount of work that you have to do. I guess I better quit whining over what I do. It is nothing to what I'm seeing in your pictures. Your under plantings are so pretty too.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Holey Cow, Monika! All your plants look fabulous. I'm glad you posted these pictures. I've run out of garden space long ago and this give me some ideas to fit more in. Your place is just beautiful!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Truly Amazing! Monika you have been working so hard! Thank you for posting these pictures,it shows me I need to get out there and get working on mine.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Me too, Rooty =o) I always feel like a lazy slug after looking at Monika's pictures!

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Monika, how big are the containers you have the seedlings planted in? How about the larger brugs? I have run completely out of room to plant, but found a local nursery that will give me as many containers as I need...I am just not sure what sizes to get. I have about 30 still needing a new home, too. Cant seem to give them away here.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Thank you for your nice comments. It is much work but I really enjoy it after a long and boring winter.
I keep the seedlings in 1,5 gallon sized pots until flowering.
The large brugs are planted permantly in 5 gallon pots, which have holes on the side and in the bottom. They are planted together with these pots into the ground or in larger pots, mainly 25 gallons.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Really nice pictures Monika. Can't wait to see them in bloom. Your garden always is so clean and tidy. How do you do it? LOL... I'm so messy when I'm working in the yard.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

Monika, you've got a great space. Wonderful pictures. Keep posting pictures.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

As usual Monika, you've outdone yourself. It's marvelous. I'm glad to hear that you're almost done. You need the rest.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

earthling,
Are you really looking for homes for some Brugs? I can help you with that! I am in Denton, how far is Rowlett from there?

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

Monika:

Your yard is beautiful. It looks like the perfect place to host a wedding and reception. I agree with scooterbug, you and your garden should be on television.

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

Monika... its a wonder you have time to post much less potty with all of that.. but yes, it is well worth the trouble.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

You have been busy! They all look so nice and healthy, Monika!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Looks absolutely wonderful! Thank you for taking out time to post! Hopefully it wont be long until you can sit back and enjoy hybridizing, evaluating, and smelling the brugs!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Gosh, Monika, you have been very busy. It looks beautiful. Wish I was there to see it. Can't wait to see your Blooms.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Monika, your back yard is wonderful, as others have said I don't see how you accomplish all you do. How old are the seedlings in the 1 1/5 gal. pots. They look absolutely great. Donna

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I wish my front yard looked as good as your gh area Monika. Your front brug alley is what inspired all of us. I'll never forget the first time I saw it. We had never seen anything like it. Until then we were preening ourselves on our shrubby unknowns. You have been our beacon through thick and thin.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I meant to have a garden like that! Your brugs look great! I hope you get to rest a bit now that you've got them all planted.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Very beautiful, Monika! You are an inspiration.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Monika, they are georgious, on the first picture, did youtrim the leaves off the bottom so that they would look more like trees? just wondering, their so tall. I see you had to stake them too, I've staked some of mine, the wind makes them fall over not the pots, just the plants. I have one now on the front porch that is falling over.

Monika, your gardening skills are amazing, but your organizational skills are over the top!! I enjoy looking at the way you have things arranged and placed, I can see that a special spot is hand picked for each plant and that all of your brugs are cared for like adored, only children, with a loving mother. What a wonderful experience, for me, to have the opportunity to learn from one so knowledgeable and experienced - and your generosity, with your time, is truly a gift to the subscribers. Thank you so very much!!! SherryLike

Fabulous as usual, Monika. Your gardens look great.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Thank you all again!
Kathy_Ann, these are trees and they are already several years old. After two years, when the trunk becomes wooden, it quits growing sprouts. On the fourth picture, the tall seedlings have lost all their leaves in the winter quarter.
I dont strip leaves off on seedlings or cuttings, because they have a important role in the nutrition of the plant. With the help of sunlight, fertilizer is split in the leaves into different proteine and this makes it possible for the plant to grow and flower. Each leaf is a small chemical manufactory.

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

wow, thanks monika for the info, I have some brugs, but i'm new to them, their all from cuttings, doing fantastic, butno blooms yet, hoping for blooms soon

kathy

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

If they were made from cuttings, then they should bloom soon for you. I keep my fingers crossed! Just keep a eye on the very point of the sprout if it splits into two points, like a Y. The first bud will show in the fork of the Y.

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

Yes they were made from cuttings, You know, I can't believe how beautiful all those brugs are, Alot of work goes into that I'm sure. Do you bring them all inside the green house in the winter. I'm thinking the brug thing must be addictive LOL . Those who have them have lots of them LOL. Thanks for the advice, and please keep posting those pics, they are inspiring to say the least.

Monika your energy level must be incredible. Everything looks wonderful.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

monika, what is a gallow? We have word here, gallows, which is where outlaws (criminals) used to stand on when they were hung by a rope by the neck for a serious crime like murder. It's pretty archaic and barbaric now but one state, I think, still uses that.....ugh!
earthling, do you have a peach or orange bruggie that you want to give away? My Charles Grimaldi cutting didn't make it either. PLMK......

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

woodspirit, I call them gallows, because the seedlings are all tied up on the top but with their roots still on the ground and it is the place, where their destiny comes to the decision, whether they are going to the compost or 'high life' lol.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

are so there is a similar meaning. I like yours better than mine, lol.
Your website is wonderful. Are any of those bruggies available in the U.S?
