Eclipse had posted:
"The high heat of summer will keep certain species of brugs from blooming till the cool evenings of fall. Suaveolens and its hybrids will bloom in the summer heat because this species originated in Eastern Brazil..in the tropics...most other species of brugs are mountain dwellers...warm days..cool nights.Versicolor, candidas, and sanquineas are in this group..they like cool nights so they bloom late in the season or very early in the season if the tree already has a Y on it."

Kyle, great info, sure wish you could post more of these pearls of info more often, lol. I need to study what exactly this means to my growing brugs.

Maybe bring the Versi's and Candida's out from dormancy earlier? And also plant in the back rows or cooler spots in the garden?

So many are multi-hybrids now. C'mon Kyle, please give us more of your experience, this is so interesting! I thought Versi's could bloom all summer?

My versa colors never bloom until fall but I don't have a problem with any others. They slow down some in the heat of summer.

Gee, and I'm just getting my first (and only) bud on my V. Peach after 1 whole year!

Shucks :(

I have already had flushes of bloom on my EP that was in the ground, must have been the mild winter.

I have a small versi peach with a bloom about to open. It's in a pot and was in a greenhouse all winter. This was a cutting from the one in the ground which is coming out very slowly. It is no where near the size of the others in the ground. Is versi peach typically a slow grower?
