colocasia gigantea?

Foley, AL

hardyness to this palnt is zome 7b right? full to part sun damp soil and fertlize correct? any tricks or problems with this colocasia?

Interlachen, FL

7b. They prefer at least full 1/2 day sun or they will start to become tall and spindly. damp soil, but should be allowed to dry once a week to prevent moisture related diseases and yellow leaf. I ONLY trust time release fertilizer because its impossible to overdose the plant & these plants easily can have a bad reaction to regular fertilizer.

Heres the reccomended fertilizer:

I got mine as a trade. I have 6 of them in one gallon pots. Its not that they are expensive, just really hard to find. I would be willing to trade if by some rare chance someone had a philo I wanted.

Count me out then, lol. I'll keep my eyes open for some around here.

Hey ! We should have a: (RARE PLANTS CONTEST) I can be the judge because it would be an unfair advantage for me to compete. The winner will get a grab bag of my rare philo cuttings. Anyone interested? I can post it in the main Tropicals forum if enough people want to play.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I don't have that one AA,but I am game to try it.Nice long leaves.

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

I don't have that one AA but it is beautiful. I don't have any rare plants unless my Philodendron is rare.
