Well I found out that I have been a member since Dec,2002 and forgot about it due to my mom's illness-breast cancer at the time. She is alive and well...
My name is Nadine Milburn and I see alot of my plant buddie's names on here too...Hello ya'll...nice to see ya again ...
Now to tell ya alittle about what I do and what I grow on this little bitty patch of land I have... I own 19 acres..by the way..
I am a school bus driver and one of the few female Bus Porters for LISD here in Texas..Other words..I service a fleet of 42 school buses and wouldn't trade that job for nothin else....
I grow alot of varieties of plants here in my Zone 9B..brugmansias,gingers,bananas,EE's,tropicals,palms,tropical vines, all kinds of other plants I can get my hands on...I also grow seeds from around the world...
Yobiyeah (Hello) from Devers, Tx
Welcome from Iowa. Your list of plants is awesome - I'm definitely having zone envy here! Glad your mom is doing well and have fun here in the garden!
Welcome from the Bluegrass State. Good to hear that you mom is doing well.
Vicki
Thanks about my mom... she is doing well for a 78 year old and still gardening..it keeps her busy...she didn't let that cancer get her down either while she was living with me(now living with my brother for awhile)..I had to build her some shelves up high enough so she wouldn't bend over and get her chemo bag caught in the plants..and sowing seeds as well..
Welcome, Nadine! I tried to grow ginger a few months ago but planted it outside too early in the season. Have fun here at Dave's Garden and be sure to post your pictures!
Claire

wecome from new york. say hello to your mom
Welcome from Iowa. I love to see people so eager and excited about plants. Whoa............I don't know if I could handle being a bus driver. I taught four and five year olds for 17 years. That was enough for me. LOL! Enjoy Daves. It's the best place in the world to spend those extra minutes/hours.

Nadine is a woman of many tallents. She is also an expert seemstress, a wonderful mom, a loyal friend.
Thanks, Daisy...I see ya up early this morning...I am too..Gotta go plant 4 crates of rocks that I found at our old middle school around some of my flowerbeds..It was being torned down to make way for our new Primary school..and 4 Glass garden cloches..now that was a find!!!
Being a school bus driver is a special breed of people..I have a 86 passenger bus that looks kinda sorta like those Greyhound buses on the road..I'll take a pic of it and post on here one day to show ya'll...big machine...
Welcome, or I guess I should say welcome back! I'm glad you rediscovered DG. Three cheers for your Mom, planting flowers while wearing a chemo bag is a real sign of optimism!! I've heard that attitude is a big part of cancer survival.
MaryE. Thanks alot..Yes my mom was out in the yard playing in the dirt while wearing her chemo bag around her waist....I couldn't keep her inside of the house..she wouldn't have been happy that way..She has been two years cancer free...still playing in the dirt but over at my brother's house now...LOL...
moodene, welcome to Dave's. It is a great place.
Moodene, Welcome back, of course if you/ve been on other forums you already know what a great site this is. See you round the forums. I love finding takeaways for my garden, too. It's fun to add these finds to my yard.
Welcome aboard! Hope to see ya around the site.
