Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Bill,

I received the seeds today! Thanks a bunch! Did you get mine? I've heard mail can be slow going out of Spokane, for some reason - and I did mail them the same day you did. Just wanted to test if this is true or not.

Hi Bill: I sent you an email requesting your mailing address for the SASE. I have an Amaryllis bulb that I grew last Christmas and it has kept growing back despite my cutting back the leaves. Should I clip them right off and pull the bulb and put it in the cold cellar to rest til the fall? I am not sure what to do with this. Can you help? Thanks

yah!! I finally have small little white roots!

At the suggestion of someone (I'll have to dig through threads to find who) I placed the seeds on top of a container of water. They didn't sink, and now after two weeks? they have small white roots (?) appearing.

Yipee! Putting them into soil tomorrow

Hi Bill

I received the Amaryllis seeds in the mail today ! Thanks a bundle !! Please tell me what to do with them now? I havent got a clue !!!

AprilHillside I placed my seeds in a shallow dish of water located out of the way in the kitchen so they were not disturbed. After 2-3 weeks, tiny roots started to appear. I plucked them up with tweezers and shallowly placed them in soil, root pointed downward. You might make a tiny indentation in the soil with your finger, otherwise the root might break off from being forced into the soil. Carefully cover the seed with a small amount of soil (I placed mine surface level) Place them in bright light and watch them grow!

I'm not expert, this is my first seeds to grow, but I must have done something right!
