Hi everyone! I signed up last August and subscribed in February because this is such a GREAT place. I've posted a few times recently as I've started coming here more often. I just got really interested in roses, my favorites are OGR's and Austins. We live on 167 acres and I have maybe 2 that the cows can't get to and that the dogs are only in when we're at home. I just started seriously making beds last year and have ALOT to learn. I don't like to use chemicals and have so far just let nature take it's course with the plants.
Hope to learn alot from everyone - and to throw in my 2 cents when I can.
Happy Gardening :-)
Vicki

Welcome to Daves, Vicki. Hope you are enjoying the garden.
Thanks for the welcome, I'm sure I will enjoy it very much here.
Welcome! This is such a fun and informative place. I'm sure you will soon consider it home and us your family. It sounds like you have plenty of space to play with.
Waving from the Bluegrass!!!
Welcome!
I am West of the Lakes and South of Paducah...about 20 miles from the TN line...where is Salvisa?
Hey SadieMae...another hearty greeting from The Bluegrass State. I'm about 40 miles west of Louisville, just across the river from Corydon, IN. Good to see you here! Look for me on Market Grower forum and a few others :) Great people here...Kathy
Welcome SadieMae, if you've been dipping since Feb you already know how helpful and just plain fun Dave's can be, so maybe we'll share a cuppa coffee during breaks from garden chores on one of the forums.
Good morning everyone.
Melody - Salvisa is in North Mercer County, just over the line from Anderson County (Lawrenceburg). I pass a Benton sign when I'm going to my family's in Dyersburg, TN (I travel the Parkways). I've noticed several Kentuckians here. It is so cool to see many people from so many different places sharing their gardening and other interests. Maybe if everyone gardened, the world would be a kinder place!

Vicki, I think you've got something there!
The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God's heart in a garden,
Than anywhere else on Earth.

Amen Vicki.
I was just in your neck of the woods on Sunday. Went to Shakertown at Pleasant Hill. One of the women that does the demonstration in The Meeting Hall and sings beautifully, is retired from Mercer County High School as a teacher.
Another welcome from Iowa here. Enjoy the garden!
Kathy..what a nice poem.
Yeah, Shakertown is great, we took my mom there once when she came for a visit. We all really enjoyed it.
Vicki

Welcome! Ya, I just became a subscriber too, great site, great people, lots of help.
Thanks for the welcomes! I really do love this place : )
SadieMae, I just posted some Roses on my Welcome Mat, enjoy!
I'm also new and also from KY although I live in Maryland now. Still get home several times a year. The climate and topography is very similar. I love both places for gardening.
