I have the bottle of the Ortho Sevin Liquid Brand Carbaryl Insecticide 2 .

Is it safe on Brugs for Spidemites, mean bugs etc....It's for any bugs that eating leaves on tree, fruits, flowers. It's all that I have on my shelves and saw it and didn't think about it if it's safe to use it on Brugs. It will need to be mix with water.

Please let me know so if yes, then I will run and buy a new spray big bottle so I can fill up with water with this mix and spray it.

Few of my brugs are full of spidermites.. Man, they are hard to get rid of.

I do not know Mini. I never heard that you shouldn't use it on brugs. But then I never heard it worked on Spidermites either. Too bad Susie is not around. She is my chemical expert.

We use Sevin on fruit trees, hibiscus, Passion Flwrs., ornimentals and brugs, ours is the powder form, to be mixed with so much water. We sprayed three times,
spider/cyclemin(sp) mites are still on some leaves, barely moving, so next three sprays will be with Avid. To be in mid 80's all this week, so perfect weather for those little monsters!

Bump this up and hope Susie will see it..

Mini, I don't think Sevin is good for spidermites. Just washing them with the hose would help. You will probably have to buy something that is made specifically for killing mites. Does the label on Sevin say anything about mites? I don't know without going outside and reading the label on mine. I generally use Sevin to keep down the cabbage worms and flea beetles on my garden veggies.

I read and it didn't say about mites on the list.. I guess I will buy other kind. I was hoping to save my $$ before I buy other.

Tricia, I copied this from the Home Recipes thread in this forum. It will work for mites too, just keep up the spraying until they are gone.

Finchlady says: "Aphids, earwigs, etc. - when I moved my brugs outside a few weeks ago, somebody yelled loudly - "lunch over here". And in a couple of days the damage was showing. I used a spray of rubbing alcohol and water in a 1:1 ratio with a shot of dish soap and sprayed well - top and underside of leaves and down the trunks. I repeated every few days and no more damage. Just few drop oh Lemon Liquid (JOY) or cheaper AJAX at least 2 drops and mouth wash of Listerine 1 Tbs mixed with water to use bottle spraying every other day until you see any more mites, it helped mine. Don't spray everyday only need.
