While walking through the woods, I spotted a beautiful Hoya carnosa way up in a palm tree. I had no idea what it was and had to post it on the identification forum. I tried so hard to get a cutting, but it was up too high. I think the plant's roots were in the palm tree because I could not find any evidence that it was growing in the ground.
Anyway, it was one of the most beautiful plants I have seen, and I really want one. So if anyone has some cuttings to spare, please let me know. I have mostly tropical plants such as Scadoxus multiflorus, Senna alata (seed), unidentified crinums, unidentified Amaryllis, Senna mexicana (seed), and Kaempferia pulchra.
Just saw a Hoya for the first time and love them!
My trade list is http://davesgarden.com/tl/tamimcnally/
I'm sure there are some which have some spare cuttings but bare in mind that it may take some time for them to bloom.
You can also check at Home Depot and nurseries for some baskets full with H. carnosa.
Hi there,
I am taking some cuttings for another member and would love to send some to you too. They are very easy to root in water or I can root them for you. I will take a look at your trade list. You can see some pictures of mine in the Hoya forum.
I would love to trade for a peacock ginger if you still have some. LMK what you have to trade.
Hi Tami,
Send me your address I have two growing crazy will gladly send you a slip or two. In fact the one from the kitchen has had to be put outside for the summer the fragence I love but makes my DH's sinus go crazy and it seems is constantly in bloom. I was told when I got the mother plant 17yrs ago that they grow in water so she sat there for many years last year I decided to take a few slips and plant them in dirt then I split the root ball on the mother plant figured do or die and now they are both blooming like crazy. I wouldn't root in water just dip in rooting hormone and stick in the dirt they will grow and grow.
