Clematis

I have a beautiful clematis and don't care to go buy another, can this be divided or starts done from this?

Last summer I started four pots of clematis from cuttings. My daughter’s neighbor has a real nice vigorous clematis vine that we really liked. I took home a three foot branch with a lot of new growth. From this branch I cut off about a dozen short cuttings. Using rooting hormone [from HD] I put 3 or 4 cutting in each of four pots of planter mix. I kept them moist by covering them with a plastic bag until they rooted. They started good last year and are now ready to transplant in the yard. Maybe we’ll have flowers this summer.

Thanks Loyd, I'll try this! I have taken a section and put it in a window vase of water along with a african violet that I am rooting.....I'll try your way too and see which one works best! Thanks.
