I was loading up my trailer for the Farmers Market earlier, I looked up and saw I had company. This is our resident neighborhood peacock who came to check out my misc. fowl. He hardly ever ventures my way, maybe once a year during mating season. (I think he is in love with my geese!)
it truly is a jungle out there!
What a lovely picture... Poor guy. You need to go and buy him a girlfriend.
What a good looking Bird! and that yard is pretty snappy!!
i
He's looking for hens...
his hens are probably on setting on eggs
I have 3 hens on eggs right now and the male has been attacking my truck .....
He thinks his reflection in the bumper is another male...
Its kinda funny but he's doing some real damage to my truck
and his legs.....
I have to keep sheets over the front and back and keep it dirty so he can't see himself......
now he's starting to attack trucks that come in the yard
explain that one to the insurance company....
By the way ,your garden is gorgeous.....
Lisa your garden is beautiful. Where is that picture taken? Is it in the front of the house? I am trying to picture it, I don't remember the arch is new.
What a great picture.
My friend has one that is content to strut the lawn mower for hours on end.
I wonder if it makes the lawn mower start up easier????LOL!
thanks all for the nice words about the yard.
Crestedchick,he has no hens :0( it is just him and po' fellah, he is looking high and low. He showed up about 6 years ago with a hen (so the neighbors say, I've only been here 2 years) they just showed up during the night. The hen left or was killed. He was left behind. He does attack cars thinking it is another bird. I am trying to get him a hen, but not having too much luck. They are quite expensive and hard to find for sale.
Peggy, you're good! You wouldn't recognize that area, it is all new. I've been working on it for a couple of months. The arch is over the front pathway, looking towards the road. On the other side of the arch is the front porch. I can't wait to finish it so I can start on another area :-). I wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday also!!! So sorry I missed it, I was so busy yesterday that it was all a blurr! I Hope you had a great day.
Lisa, it's gorgeous! Poor birdie, he must be so lonely.
I can't wait to see your gardens!
Talk about a beautiful shade of green!! I love it and the bird!
Beautiful garden! I need to go over and visit ya one day! :o)
Lisa your yard is beautiful! and so is the poor fella' ;)
Great picture. Your grass is so green. Beautiful and the bird compliments it well.
Lisa,
Check around your area for a poultry auction
The auctions around here have tons of peacocks
and the hens go from between 12 to 50 bucks depending on age and what season it is.They are cheapest in the fall....
Lisa your garden is beautiful. I hope you'll have time to post additional photographs.
what a cool visitor-id have helped into a pen!!! :)
Looking good girl!!
What a great shot. Your yard is beautiful.

Brave son of a gun. If I was out looking for "hens" while my wife was home with ours, I'd be in a world of trouble.
HA! @ Chris...I suppose that is why he has...drum roll.....a bird brain..hehehehe. :P
Lisa,
Great picture of your beautiful garden. We had a peahen join our family. We named her Honk and she also loved the hubcaps on our truck. She was so lonely that we had to find her a good home with other peafowl. I miss her.
dang,ya coulda sent her to lisa!
