Experment and solution

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Found out my main problem in trying to grow everything here is my water is very very high alkaline. Off the scale 9.0. No wonder I have so many problems.
Solution: Bought a Hozon Brass Siphon Mixer that screws onto the faucet at a garden center ($17.75). Has a siphon hose that goes into a container of your choice. Can regulate the water flow by way of the faucet. Stuck the feeder hose into a gal of vinigar and adjusted the faucet until I had a PH of 7.0 coming out the end of the hose.
Now I have a source of the right PH.

WOW, you are smart. LOL

Think I will bottle up some of my well water and sell it as Pond care PH down. LOL

A happy birthday to Callalily who has helped me get started in gardening.

Ted, no offense, there are two with the same name, but different spelling! Cala is Susie who start us all in our brug addiction, she is now in Texas [formerly TN], the other one spelled Callalily is a new member from Oklahoma. look at the new subscribed members.

TA, thank you soooooooooo much!!! You just helped me solve a problem!!!
I have pH of 8.4 which is too high for most plants(except a few tropicals that just don't care what the pH is).
I have used some Chelated Iron, but can't use it too often or will cause toxicity.
I used some Aluminum Sulfate, but same there, can't use too much or toxicity results.
I have Hydrochloric Acid that we use in the pool water, and was getting ready to use it in the injector system that is attached to my sprinkler system but was dreading the measuring and mixing because one must be so careful with the acid.
I will buy a big jug of vinegar tonight and use that! I should have remembered that vinegar is used to bring the pH down in fish ponds but I forgot!

Sure glad it helped even though it was not your birthday. lol
