Hi-
I'm not a new member in the sense of signing up but I did just buy a susbscription today and I'm depending solely on DG now because I gave Spike... from a certain website... a peice of my mind. Has anyone else given up on THAT garden forum website? So much repressed anger...
I have lots of plants and hope to be able to share them with people and I hope to meet all you gardeners out there.

Kind of New
WAHOO! Another gardener from Maryland!! WOW, two new gardeners both in the same week!!!
Welcome to Dave's Garden! Where you will meet the friendliest and most knowledgeable gardeners on the web.
Most gardeners at DG have had their "run-ins" with Spike. You're NOT alone, but that's a whole other thread.
Hope you can join us this weekend at the 1st Mid-Atlantic R.U., June 4th - 6th. Here is a thread to give you more information. http://davesgarden.com/t/418871/#new Or hop over to the Round Up Forum and get directions, etc., etc.
Capt. welcome to Daves. Hope you are finding your way around okay. Jump right in and feel at home. Hey, you would really enjoy the roundup. They are a great time. Talk to you later..........Shirley
Hi Capt and welcome from the West Coast.
Yup, we are ALOT nicer than the "other" place and love to give out as much knowledge as we can. I hope you enjoy it here.

Hi Cap, I've seen you around here, glad you feel like announcing you're joining in. Don't know anything about that "other" site, guess I don't want to from things I've seen posted around Dave's. If you're out in the Canyons some time I'll show you around. We're friendly here.
welcome from new york state. great having you onboard capt.
Welcome from IA. Seen you on some of the forums - glad to see you're finding your way around DG!
Welcome CaptMicha!
Thanks! I've really been enjoying myself on this site. I'm not getting the Christian thing (not my religion and I don't really understand :( ) but everyone is so nice and it's definally the best garden site around.
I too noticed the "Christian thing" when I first browsed the forums and was a little leery (too)... but there's no proselytizing anywhere here, and you'll never bump into anything (more than perhaps an admiring reference to "God's world") in the plant forums.
There are places to share faith and comfort in the health/disability/family-type forums, I'm sure, and of course in Prayer Requests forum...
Mostly we ask and answer questions, brag and boo-hoo about creative efforts, them as can post photos and all admire, and in the process we kinda get to know some of our fellow DGers. Some have met in person at RoundUps, and if you're near your computer 7-9 or 10pm tomorrow (all Tuesdays) log on and click on the ChatRoom (just below the flower and the date in righthand column) for some live interaction -- usually quite humorous as several conversations interlace themselves across your screen!
See ya around! ~'spin!~
Hope you enjoy it here at Dave's Garden!
As for the mission here, I think it's mostly about "how" we treat one another, and not so much about what each of us believes. There is so much caring and sharing done here. It's how Christ lived His life. That, in essence, is how we should be with each other. Living by the golden rule. It's not preachy, just kind of lays the groundwork for how we interract with one another.
