JUNE 1st already!!!

I can hardly believe June is already here or that the temps are as cool as they are in the nights and early mornings.

I spent yesterday digging plants from our yard and transporting and helping to plant them in our daughter's yarden in Independence, MO. I had a great afternoon with her and the children. She and the children built some lovely plywood raised beds and decorated them with hearts, flowers, etc. stencils she downloaded off the internet. The background paint is kind of a bright forest green and the stencils are in all bright colors you can imagine. She gave me a fabulous haircut with the Robo(?)kit she has. It hooks to a vaccum sweeper so there is no mess whatsoever. Only took a couple or three minutes and it looks as good as any I have ever gotten in a salon. I think I'll let that be my excuse to drive up there once a month. The cost of the haircut I would get in a salon can go into the gas tank to help pay for the trip. We always have other things to get together for too.

I think I will tackle the blackberry row mess today. They have already bloomed so I need to get it ready for us to go in and pick soon. YUCK, what a mess it is out there. I got it all mowed down an couple times in early spring but I am the only one who will go in there and work that area with the mower. Everyone has all kinds of excuses for not mowing there. I also need to get the sprayed and now dead large weeds and grasses out of other beds and areas and get more mulch down.

I think we'll be able to keep Shadoe for a week or two when he comes back from Boy Scout camp the end of this month. I really could use his help for a while. His grandfather just isn't able to do a lot of what needs to be done. Even a day or two when I don't have to go to work and can be here to work with him would be great. Of course all I have to do is say I can't or won't be there some day during the week and it will be ok. Just don't miss Friday or Saturday without a VERY good reason. Those are our only evenings to be open and we do very good business those nights.

Guess I need to get busy on the day's demands.
