I got this plant for my birthday but know nothing about it. Does it bloom? Does it like sun or shade? Is it tropical?

Pachira aqautica..its a very tall tropical tree used sometimes as bonsai when they are small.It won't flower till it hits around 20 feet in height.Grow it as a foliage plant with half day sun and water when it starts to dry out.Drought will kill it.

Thanks. Yes it looks like a bonsai now. My interest in bonsai has waned as they take too much baby-sitting and if you go out of town, no one else takes as good of care of them as you would. But I'll try to keep this one going and see what happens as it is very prettty.
