Found this at a local nursery (WAY out in the middle of no man land) They called it a Chelome sp? I'm guessing it's a philodendron. It was brought over from another country by one of their workers. Not sure of the country. Stays this color all year round. Foliage is HUGE.... Very odd looking.
What Philodendron is this?
I don't' know anything about it....but I really like the way it looks!
Me too Brinda. I sure hope someone knows. I've been searching under philodendrons and can't find anything that looks like this. This plant was kept in a special area of the nursery. There were all types of tropical plants I'd never seen before. Most of them weren't for sale.
Oooooo.....I'd sneak in when it gets dark! LOL
I hope you find your answers! I love it!
black cardinal, perhaps?
"Black Cardinal is a self-heading philodendron, with large, 8-to 10-inch long leaves. New foliage emerges bright burgundy-red and ages to nearly black"

Thanks miss kitty. I came across that name last night as well. I wonder how large the leaves get on Black Cardinal?
I know it's only a week later...LOL...but I'm wondering how it is doing? And if you were able to positively id it? I know you're enjoying it!
I'm still watching here too.
