I made two new beds and changed one bed in front of greenhouse from annuals to brugs. All in all I planted 61 brugs, I think 9 were from cuttings from David, the rest except for a couple of carry-overs were from seeds. I haave one brug still in a 6" pot, it has 3 large buds just starting to open and so I was afraid to take it out of the pot until after they open completely. I haven't had time to mulch any of them. They are all planted in the ground in pretty much full sun.
In front of the greenhouse I have the largest ones, 7 or 8 tree forms in 3 gal pots sunk into the ground, all the rest are planted in the ground. I'm either using soaker hoses or mist sprayers. I think using the mist sprayers tends to keep mites at bay since they don't like moisture. Mostly I am fertilizing a couple of times a week with MG or Algoflash plus 3 drops of superthrive per gal. Hope i am doing everything the way i should be.
Today of course after I'd finished with the planting my Monika's book came in the mail. Will study it when I have time. I was really worried this morning, it got down to 35 degrees. We finally got some rain, has been showery all week. But guess the cold didn't hurt anything. Several of the taller ones have y'd and 3 or 4 have buds. Donna
Finished planting seedling and cutting brugs today.
Lol! It sounds like brug fever hit you Big Time! It took me a good year to decide I wanted them all at once! Best of luck to all your brugs babies.
