I'm in BIG did I say BIG trouble

What am I going to do with this banana, it's a plantain, it's grown 2 feet in 2 l/2 months. I already need to transplant it. How big will it get in a container. will it produce plantains. I'm sure I'll loose it this winter if I plant it in the ground. I must have been crazy, but I went on a banana craze this past winter. I got it in a trade. and bought some bananas off ebay, and their doing wonderful. I'm thinkin i'm in big trouble this winter. LOL Got a greenhouse going now (progress pics in the greenhouse forum) I guess I could put it in a pot and keepit in the greenhouse, right in the center where the peak roof is it's tallest . Or will be it's tallest.

Kathy,you can expect 10 to 15 ft before summers end,it will need 9 to 18 mths of warm sunshine to fruit.
If it has pups,I love to trade for some.
What others did you buy off e-bay this year?
I'm a banana nut as well.

It Will get that big Wow!. hope it does well in a huge pot. I'm going to go to the nursery and get one of their pots they use for trees. If I can afford the potting soil. I'm looking forward to bananas.


My bananas I got off DAVE (Baylove), I traded some of them, because later on I figured I wouldn't have room for them if they grew big. I have 2 Mahoii double dwarves, one I can trade off, the smaller one, I have Icecream pup still, and a gold finger pup. here's pics of them. I put one of the mahoii double dwarves in a large pot and look at it take off. the other one is still small yet. I have a plantain pup I can trade off. It's this one, it's small, but travelable i'm sure. what do you have to trade for it.

And my last banana is this gold finger, I had about 4 other kinds. I had a moment of banana fever I think. I just love them though. and if There's plenty of room in the future greenhouse then Imight think of getting a couple more from Dave (baylove) he did mention to me recently he's about to sell some more bananas. keep an eye out for them. he's fantastic. All his ee's I got from him this winter are coming back, Can't wait till they get big enough tomultiply.

I have a Zebrina,has the red markings on the leaf,already over a foot tall,Psang,which is from lady fingers mysore family,or an Ele ele,and a supercandish dwarf at this time.but will have lots others during the summer when they start puping.

you have all these to trade? I'd be interested in edible dwarf bananas. and ee's I don't have. Brugs I don't have. LOL Not sure if I understood if those bananas you have are for trade or not. let me know, you saw how small the plantain was. but it's coming along nicely. I can trade the plantain and the mohoii double dwarf one. let me know ok

Yes I have those bananas for trade also a pink brug ,pink frosty bout 3ft tall.

I made it back one more time LOL I have a frosty pink brug, would trade one for the cavendish dwarf are any of the other ones dwarf, or do they get real tall, don't want any more getting l5 feet tall LOL

No they get tall thats the only super dwarf one I have,it only gets to about 3ft at the most,the dwarf candish will get to 6ft,to you want both or just the one?

how big are they now you saw how bigmine are, I don't want to trade 2 for 2 if yours are 3 times bigger than mine, know what I mean. If you have 2 diff dwarves, I'd want those unless they are big, I can just trade 2 for your one. Do they still produce bananas at 3 foot tall? I was thinking dwarf size was about 6 foot, didn't realize they had them smaller than that. I don't know alot about bananas, or how tall the mohoii dwarf I have gets either.

Kathy Ann,took 2 pics the first one is the super dwarf,the most it will ever get would be 3 ft,but I doubt if they ever get much taller than 2ft,this has 3 new pups already up beside it.
Second pic is just a regular dwarf cavendish,this one is about 2ft.Iv'e heard these can fruit at 3ft tall.

Wow ! that little and having pups already ha? cool. Youl'l be sending one of the pups from the first one? Also, that second one looks awfully big to ship, of corse it might not be that big in reallife. I would love one of each to trade for my two bananas, if you think that's fair. if not I'll certainly understand. If you think yours will cost a lot more to mail, I can send a couple other plants along with it. I'm real big on the mint varieties too LOL. Just what ever you think,

KA,I think the pups might be too little to seperate now,so I just send the whole plant,but can't be sure until I dig it up,its been in the ground since first of April,I have a tube box that I can send these in no trouble,now thats for the plaitain and the double Mahoui,correct.

i'm quite sure but i will get brave ask as i want brug badly what would you take for it.. all i have is seeds, few house plants no some cactus plants? what? i have some ginger trying to root or you know how can tell ginger from banAnna plant were big long when sent at least 3ft tall.. put ground caME BACK..
