RICHMOND, VA(Zone 7b)

I'm embarrassed to ask such a basic question, but I hate being ignorant, and I want to learn lots about my new Brug hobby. Do Brugs not breed true from their own seeds? Do you always have to polinate them with another variety? I guess that would mean that true reproduction would only come from cuttings. It seems everyone feels that creating new varieties is so important when I can't begin to get enough of the gorgeous plants already created and available. Please explain about the birds and the bees of Brugs ---

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

Open! Open! Open! :-)

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Polly, I am new to brugs also, but I do know that brugs do not come true from seeds and not able to be pollinated with there own species pollen ( self sterile, I think they call it) Only arborrea are not self sterile) Only cuttings are true to the plant. Hope this helps! I agree that there are so many beautiful ones out there already....but I guess people want to improve on what is there!
