Verbascum, Mullein 'Pink Petticoats PPAF'

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

What a sweet delicate pink, I have two different varieties than this; a deep purple and a cream colored one.

I love verbascums :-) Seems they are coming out with more and more hybrids now.

Yes, I like that one, too! It looks like it is growing as an indoor row crop in a greenhouse? Is it a cutflower item?

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I took the pix at a local nursery. They were outside but the greenhouse is behind them. They were in 3 gallon pots. I never did check the price - LOL.

They are so nice and straight. I grew the 'Southern Charm' verbascums from seed and they always wanted to grovel around on the ground so I pulled them out. I will watch for this cultivar to get to my area. Thanks for posting it, Poppysue!

Am new to this site. Is Verbascum an annual or perennial?
What zone?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome vic9, verbascums are perennials and hardy zones 3 to 10. I am sure there are hardiness exceptions in some of the new hybrids.

Sue, that is gorgeous. Verbascum were going to be on my list for this spring, but I totally forgot about them and now I don't have room. I love the height and colors of some of them. Great photo.

Is this the pink petticoat?

I don't think so, David. It looks like a Verbascum phoeniceum

Just purchased Verbascum 'Pink Petticoats'. The colour is more of a peach than a pink. It is a beautiful specimen. My all time favourite is Verbascum 'Raspberry Ripple'. See photo.

I just came to see if I could find out anything about Pink Petticoats, lol!!! I am checking for a friend. She will be so glad to know how nice they are. Where I work we sell them in a 1 gallon pot, nice plant size for $7.99. I don't think that is really to bad since they are such lovely size of plants. Mikey
