Wonderful specimen there, are you growing this? Mine is still in the GH here and just getting started. I hope to get it to this point someday.

this plant is a two year old cutting taken from my last garden , it's the best it has ever been. The frosts up to now, have been very light but they have finally got to it.It does not look so wonderful now.

Any idea where can I get this, it is beautiful.

I don't think there is any chance of seed from here now. I was hoping to save them. Maybe someone closer to you can help.

I ordered this from Plants Delight, it is kind of spendy because they want you to order a minimum of 50 or 60 dollars worth, but I paid $15 for a really nice start, I have had it two years now and at this time it is in my greenhouse growing pretty fast but it has a long way to go.

Hi, bootandall. I just want to make a public note of my appreciation for your excellent photo of Dahlia imperialis! As you may have noticed, I included your photo as the thumbnail image in my article about this plant that was recently featured in the new daily articles section of DG:

http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/104/

Your photo perfectly illustrated the "towering" quality of this dahlia.

When initially discussing the "how-to's" of the new articles feature, Dave assured us that pulling photos from the Plant Files for use in our articles was within the scope of the DG user's agreement. There has been some subsequent discussion, however, in the DG Forum about articles failing to give proper credit to the photographer even though we are allowed to use the photos within the DG site without the photographer's permission. In our haste to get articles submitted for the first trial efforts with the new DG feature, and in our struggles to learn how to use unfamiliar publishing software provided for the articles, some of us in our first articles didn't provide credit to the photographer for photos used in articles. As a result of discussion of this topic in the DG Forum, it will now be the standard practice, as a courtesy to the photograhper, to provide photo credits when we use photos from the Plant Files.

I apologize for the oversight in not letting you know I intended to use your photo for my Dahlia imperialis article. I do hope you found the association of your photo with my article acceptable and especially would hope that you felt honored to have it chosen.

Thanks again for the very illustrative photo of this magnificent plant!

Jeremy
