S. Calif. desert got it's share of bloom too.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

this brug stands less than 2' tall. it is a long wait, but it is well worth it. this one bloomed late last Fall.

I bet that one lights up the desert too Ma Vie. Very pretty yellow!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

it has a lovely fragrance Kell. i believe this is one of JT's breed. very short brug but lots of buds forming all over the top. am expecting it to flush soon.

btw... the experiment the other day worked! made the plants more greener than normal. i see the difference.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

What experiment?

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Gosh its so bright! Very pretty!!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Very pretty, Ma Vie.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Kell, i wrote u an email the other day about the seaweeds. no wonder i never heard from u again, u probably have not read it yet, or did it land in junk mail LOL.

Thanks Shelly and Ada, yeah it is very nice lemony color. i am surprise this bloom is much brighter and bigger than when it did in the Fall. love the fragrance it permeates in the air.

here is the Snowbank i recently bought a couple months ago.

no Debbie, it Golden Ember. the flower sure looks very waxy. right now the plant has plenty of buds all over. soon as i find a piece that is fit to cut, i will send u one. most of the branches are very immature at the moment, except above the 'Y' area.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It's a nice color MaVie and the flower looks huge!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Very pretty.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

thanks Cala and Brugie. the flower is not as big as it appears. i tried to zoom into the face of the flower. it bloomed late last night and it was too cold. so very windy up here. i tried to take photo of daytime pic, but the flower was closed. i could not measure either.

btw Cala, now u know what i meant about having windy weather LOL. welcome to the club. i sure hate those strong winds. do u also get dust devils in ur area? there are lots around here. funny crazy weather this year.

most of the brugs i grow these days had 'Y-ed', and most are in budding stage. my experiments are working!!!! i no longer buy expensive fertilizers, i found the cheaper ones works for me and do they do wonders. if i tell u what they are u will not believe either.... hehehehe

this is the 1st time all my brugs and other plants are blooming early. whoopeee. am a happy camper now!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Smells nice too Debbie. i bought the bulb last Jan. from HD. it suppose to bloom in June, but they sure are blooming now. there are 3 blooms per bulb.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Your brug flower has a nice color Mavie. Is it Ismene, what you call the peruvian daffodil?

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

thank you Monika. yes it is Ismene White. they were selling cheap at Home Depot at the time, so i thought i would try it. i understand, they come in yellow color too, but i have not seen those on sale here.

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

MaVie,that's Ember Glow and you should be getting some orange around the edges. This plant seems to stay small. My largest is about 4 feet. The flower does have a nice waxey sheen.

edited to add...you can not get ahead of MaVie in a trade. She keeps on sending stuff. After several trades back and forth she sent me truffles. You can't beat that!

Thanks JT for the correction. it was labeled Golden Ember so i went ahead with that name. it is a very lovely brug, i love the fragrance too. i sure hope color would changed for me too :). thanks for the compliments, i try in my own little way LOL!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Very pretty bloom, JT. I can't wait for mine to bloom this year.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Very nice brug! I like the wide flaring flower.

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

And thanks to MaVie's generosity, I now have this beauty as well as ISABELLA here! I am sooo excited. I am on my way with my new...dare I say, addiction! I also got my Brug & Datura book in the mail yesterday so have lots of reading to do so I can treat these new ones right. Plus going back thru pages and pages of previous posts is keeping me real busy, taking notes, need to get off this computer and actually get out in the garden and get something done!
No wonder I couldn't find that name Golden Ember anywhere, glad to have the correction too.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Good going Sue...you and I will have alot of different ones for cutting exchanges! Way to go girl !!!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Hi MaVie,
The 'Demon-'Puter ' is back home , Lost a lot of files but it could have been worse.

Thanks a bunch for trading with me. My herb garden is brim full . The Clary Sage is a very interesting plant, I really like it . Sure hope it grows here. The brugs you sent me are also doing great.

I hope you enjoy the brug plants and unusual perennials I sent to you. LMK if you need replacements =))

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Thanks Kyle :).

Sue... thanks for the trade too. all are planted and looks great where they are situated. the Ember Glow, as JT corrected the name, hopefully will be blooming for u in a couple of months. if i remember right, although they are less than a foot tall, they have 'Y-ed' right away. be sure to post photo when they bloom for u. Enjoy!

Hi Shirley/Scoot, so glad u are back on the roll. Thank You for the trade too. so far everything is looking great on this end. check the Clary Sage on the Plants Database, i entered it there the other day. others who grow them, i believe are in the same zone u are.
