Flower looks funny because I tore into it to get pollen and to pollinate it.

LOL Mary, that calyx could not get any lower without swallowing the flower. Looking so dark!
Mary I found an easier way to get the pollen out without ruining the flower. I just stick a pair of scissors up into the bloom and take out the pistol and all 5 stamens at once.
Don't tip the bloom before you cut it though. Make the cut and then tip the bloom down and let all the goodies drop into a little saucer.
Mary, your picture is so pretty. Mine finally has a bud. I'm getting excited to see my first L'Amour bloom in person.
