There's a new rage in tinsel town & it originated at DG! Brug Mania has spread from Beverly Hills to Malibu. Please say hi to my partner in crime & my very best friend... please welcome Paula Abdul "Skirtz", our new DG family member. I know she's going to take on brugs with the same innergy bunny way she takes on the rest of the world. I'm so happy that we can both have this safe haven from our crazy lives. See Brin, we knew she'd do it! Can you believe how fast time goes?
Skirtz!
Welcome Skirtz, you'll like it here, tons of info and nice people as well.
Awesome photo Bambi!
Is this the Paula Abdul the singer? Or is this someone with that as a nickname, or just another Paula Abdul altogether? I've been seeing her name pop up on other forums as well! Just curious! :)
Welcome skirtz, cant wait to see you posting away!
Welcome to you! This forum will make you lust for all the gorgeous brugs, I know I am as a new collector (as of last week, thanks to all here!) Hope now that AI is over you will be able to realx a bit and enjoy your garden and start collecting. Do pop in from time to time.
Woooooooooohoooooooo Paula...where are you??? My favorite singer and AI star has finally arrived at DG! I knew you would and I love the name you took! When does your clothing line come out??? Braden blushed when he saw all the pics of the cute little models! And Chase...well he sure didn't blush...but had a few choice 'young adult' things to say about how much he liked them! LOL I'm so happy you're here!!! Can't wait for you to get hooked and addicted to brugs! I know Bambi is on the right track with you! Save me a spot on the beach at Malibu you two!!! Welcome and Luv ya bunches!!!
back2back, since we all know who SKIRTZ is, who are you? lol! :) Perhaps Paula will enlighten us!
Welcome to Dave's Garden Skirtz! You will soon discover that one of the best ways to unwind after a hectic day is to sit in your garden surrounded by the fragrance and beauty of your brugs. Now, which brug would you like to start with first? :-)
Hi Karire, I work in the entertainment biz in LALA land. I guess you could say "I represent talent". I also work with a few orgainizations that are trying to bring the "arts", music, dance, writing & now gardening to kids that would otherwise find less productive outlets to keep themselves occupied. I have 1 husband, 1 cat & 2 dogs (all domestic) indoors. In my backyard, I have the largest bunny colony in Beverly Hills (probably because I feed them 10 carrots a day). My newest little animals are squirrels & my newest plants addictions (this month) are elephant ear & coleus.
Hey Bambi....I love your coleus! So pretty!!! I have the oxalis all over as ground cover on the north side of the house! I just love it!
Nice to meet you Bambi! Those are pretty plants! I like those too! We can't grow elephant ear up here, too cold in the winter for them to survive, and now that I've taken up Brugs, don't have anymore room for more tropicals to overwinter (it will look like a jungle in here as it is!)
We have just one pet, Max - spoiled tenderfoot, declawed cat that thinks he's tough enough to go outdoors at night and mix in with the stray toms (NOT) - he's had some close calls!
My newest plant loves are cannas and brugs, that I've started this year, and will box up the rhizomes for storage, during the winter.
If it's warm and sunny down there, please send some North!
Nice to meet you!
Karrie
Can I put coleus with blackie & margarito potatoe vine & some black & lime ears under my brugs if they're in the ground? I am so obsessed with the foilage! How do you think it would look? I really don't like to see the dirt.
Bambi, I forgot to say......
I think the organizations you are involved in that help children get involved with the arts is wonderful. There is so much un-noticed talent out there - many children don't even know what they are capable of. Kudos to you and those you work with that are helping make a difference in peoples lives! :)
Thanks Karrie. It's really rewarding to be in a position to be able to encourage & nurture self expression for teens through artisitc means. The music industry has been setting some very bad examples of late.
Welcome to DG, Skirtz
And don't worry that we might hold your celebrity status against you....We'll love ya just the same... :)~
I'm sure you'll love it here..... :)
I think they'd look great Bambi, such wonderful color combinations. Lucky you to be able to leave everything outside.
Bambi - you aren't-a-kidding!
Hello and Welcome Paula to Daves Garden. Hope to see you around he forum soon. You will love it here.
Bambi .. last year in my potted brugs I had coleus in with mine along with a morning glory that was climbing up the trunk of the brug. It turned out really pretty. Everything did really good.
Hi and welcome to Dave's.
LOL at Kell.
Welcome to DG. I hope us knowing who you are doesn't stop you from having just as much fun around here as we do. Sometimes too much fun but what is life all about anyway?
I just got my brugs all planted outside for the summer and they are sure happy. They didn't like the dry house. Can I say spider mites? shhhh don't tell anyone I am a bad brug Mom.
Lani
Lani! Spider mites? Are those the little tiny red things? If not, does anyone know what those tiny little red things are? No, don't have them on my Brugs, as my Brugs are still pretty much indoors, but I have noticed them outside the past two years - little tiny red things - and they eat plants! Any advice on what they might be and how to get RID of them?
Kell, I think you use probably the same methods for domesticating a husband as you do for training a puppy. I think I must have a manual around here I could send! Mine is so well behaved I can take him anywhere.
I have actually heard about this method! It is a FOR REAL thing! :) It's been years, but I indeed remember reading about this!
Bambi - I noticed you are up either very late, or very early. We have a great forum going on the Jokes & Chat (night owls) and we do alot of sharing there. Wasn't sure if you knew about it, but you are more than welcome to pop in and share as well! We laugh, we cry, we dance, we sigh. Wonderful people in that group (as in Brugs as well) and sometimes it's just a nice place to vent (nicely).
