Wood Sorrel, False Shamrock (Oxalis triangularis subsp. papilionacea)

Redlands, CA

Absolutely gorgeous!

I have just put my oxalis down for a little nap. In about two months I will separate and begin watering again. I am looking for a section of the purple var. Thanks for a lovely photo.

All the best,

I have been looking all over for this little beauty. I seen and read about it in a Home Depot house plant guide. They have it pictured as a burgundy color. This purple one is absolutely gorgeous. Any ideas where I can purchase?

Plant Delights Nursery has both colors.

They say Oxalis regnellii 'Triangularis' is also known as "Purple and Black", while the all-purple one you describe, which can go more towards burgundy, they call Oxalis regnellii 'Mijke'. I have also seen it at other places online, but PDN is the only place that distinguished between these two cultivars (I bought some online that were simply labelled Oxalis regnellii, and turned out to be 'Triangularis')

I have also seen it at my local garden centers in late Feb / early March (timed for St.Patrick's Day ;) so try looking then if you want to pick out the specific color you like.

Had to throw in another pic of this one...much better focus on it. This time with a Sulpher on the nearby Sedum.
