Assorted blub questions...

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

I received a gift of bulbs today, without a single hint of when, where to plant them. Please tell me what to do. The bulbs are as follows:

Double freesia mixture
Dinnerplate Dahlias
Gladiolus mixed
Sweet William
Anemone decaen
Sweet William

I look forward to hearing from you. TIA!!!! SherryLike

Basically these can be planted in the fall or early spring after your last frost

Thanks CoCo!!!! So I shouldn't put them in the ground now???

I don't know why you can't put them in the ground right now.

When is your first frost date in the fall? Most of them should be done flowering by that time. I don't know if you should lift the dahlia's and glads. Ask someone in your area.
Sweet Wm. should blossom and set seed. It will reseed it self if you don't dead head the plants [take off spent blossoms]

Hope this helps.

Here in Illinois those look to be all tender except for the sweet william which claims to be a biennial, blooming every other year. I have just put in my freesia and dahlias (which we have to pull up for the winter). I'm still putting glads in and also have left some in over the winter - lost a few but the strong survive. In fact the glads here can be planted every couple of weeks in the spring to keep continuous blooms going in the garden. I get a lot of info from the mail order companies online by looking at each plant on their site. They usually give you that type of information for each product. What a nice gift!

I would love to try glads some year. I already have a bunch of new stuff that I am trying this year so will wait!
