Pets in parked cars

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

It's that season again, and for many folks it's warm all year round, so this bears saying: Don't leave your pets in parked cars on warm days!

If you see a car with an animal in it, even with the windows cracked, report it to the store security, animal control, or the police. It takes very little time for temperatures in a closed-up car to reach lethal levels.

Here is a flyer I made up to keep in our vehicles. I put them beneath the windshield wiper of cars which enclose pets in parking lots. People just don't know how harmful it can be - and I hope these flyers might give them the info they need.

You're welcome to print this and use it. The information came from the Humane Society of the United States. This image of the poster is not as good as the original, but it gets the point across.
