My uncle used to send my mother pecans when we were kids after we had moved to Oregon from Oklahoma. They had native pecans there and they went out to pick them up whenever they could get them. Mom would send him walnuts and or filberts/hazelnuts in exchange as they are more native here. Is there any interest in trading nutmeats with other cooks ? I still have some uncracked hazelnuts and walnuts that I would love to trade for pecans and/or almonds. I would have to get busy and crack them out. Or maybe the other alternative is to do something this fall after harvest of the various nuts? Anybody interested?
